WORD GAME GUIDE

How to Sign In With Google or a Site Password

Use Sign in with Google to create or open your word-games account. You can also set a site password in Account Settings and use your verified email for direct login.

Sign in with Google

Open the sign-in page and choose Sign in with Google. Select the Google account you intend to use and review the identity/email request. Returning to the site opens your account. Your public display name is separate from your private Google email; change the display name in Account Settings if needed.

Set a password for direct login

While signed in, open Account Settings. If the account has no site password, use Set a Password for Direct Login. Choose and confirm your password yourself. You can then sign out and sign in with the verified email and that site password. Setting the password does not remove the connected Google sign-in method.

Keep the same account and progress

A connected Google identity and the site password open the same account. They do not create separate leaderboards or duplicate saved games. Existing username-only players should keep using their current username unless an identity has been explicitly connected; typing someone else’s email is not proof of ownership.

Recovery and account actions

Store the private recovery code shown by the account screen. Google account recovery and this site’s recovery code are different mechanisms. A Google-only account needs a site password before actions that require password confirmation, such as replacing a recovery code or deleting the account. Never include either password or a recovery code in feedback.

If Google sign-in fails

Return to the sign-in page and select the intended Google account. A canceled consent or failed verification should not create a signed-in session. If you already have a site password, use direct login while the problem is investigated. Report the visible error and page URL without copying a token, code or credential.
