A LITTLE WORD KNOW-HOW
Two-Letter Words: How to Study Them for Word Games
A practical way to learn short words while keeping game-specific acceptance separate.
Start with words you recognize
Common two-letter words such as AN, AT, IN and TO are easy to remember. They also make the rule concrete: each entry is a whole word, not merely a pair of useful letters.
Learn the unfamiliar ones in context
A short accepted reference word can have an unfamiliar meaning. Read its source sense when available and group it with a small set you are practicing. Recognizing the spelling is more useful than guessing from its appearance.
Use the correct reference
Short-word acceptance differs between games and versions. Study the list your game supports. Our English list is labeled so it is not mistaken for a current official publisher list.
