A LITTLE WORD KNOW-HOW

How to Use the Word Unscrambler

Turn a rack of letters into matching words.

Enter the right information

A rack may produce READ, GAIN and GRAIN without using every letter. Two copies of one letter in a candidate require two matching rack letters, or a blank tile. Start with fewer filters and add a length or prefix only when you need it.

Work through an example

Try this input: READING. Read the normalized input above the result list before using a suggestion. If a letter or rule looks wrong, correct the field and run the helper again. The displayed result count belongs to that exact set of constraints.

When no words match

Keep your input and check the most restrictive field first. Verify the length, repeated letters, blanks and excluded letters. Then relax one condition at a time. An empty result can be correct; the tool should never fill it with unrelated or invented words.
