How to Play Word Guess: Rules & Worked Tips

Start with the rules

Find the hidden five-letter word in six guesses. A green letter is correct in that position. A yellow letter is present in another position. A gray letter has no remaining unmatched copy in the answer. Colors also carry text labels for accessibility.

Try a useful approach

Repeated letters matter. If your guess contains two Es and only one gets a green or yellow mark, you know the answer contains that one confirmed E, with no evidence for a second. Keep the full row of feedback when using the solver.

Understand your result

Only accepted five-letter guesses use a turn. A solved ranked daily puzzle earns from 1,000 points on the first guess to 500 on the sixth. A loss earns zero. Our Word Guess is an independent game, with its own answer set and daily edition.
